- PROGRAM DOCUMENTATION
- ---------------------
-
- With the release of the STE and TT030 line of personal computers
- from Atari, digital, stereo PCM sound is now standard. We Atari
- users can now enjoy the same stereo digital music that Amiga
- owners have been using for years. One of the most popular form
- of digital music is the .MOD file.
-
- Keeping track of all your MOD files can be a real hassle if
- you're not entirely sure what the title of the song is. It is
- not always easy to tell the song tile from the file name. That's
- where MOD Cataloger comes in.
-
- This program will list your MOD files and tell you the title of
- the music in the file. You can send this list to the screen,
- printer, or a disk file.
-
- The program uses a standard GEM interface for ease of use. Under
- the file menu you will find the following options...
-
- CATALOG MOD FILES- This option will output a list of all the MOD
- files in the current directory to the
- specified output device. You'll probably
- want to set the directory first. (See below)
-
- SELECT DIRECTORY - This option will allow you to specify the
- directory which contains the MOD files that
- you want to catalog.
-
- SELECT MOD FILE - This option will allow you to select one
- individual MOD file. Once selected the
- program will immediately output its music
- name to the specified output device.
-
- QUIT - Obviously this is the option to use when you
- want to exit the program.
-
- To specify the desired output device go to the OUTPUT menu. You
- have three choices: SCREEN, PRINTER, FILE. You can never de-
- select screen, because even if you send a catalog listing to the
- printer or to a disk file it will still display on the screen.
- If you don't want the catalog to be output to any device other
- than the screen simply click on SCREEN. If you want to send the
- output to a printer as well as to the screen, click on PRINTER.
-
- If you tell the program to catalog the MOD files in a directory
- that has no MOD files in it, you will get an empty listing.
-
- NOTE: This program assumes that your mode files follow the
- typical convention of FILENAME.MOD.
